OUR SCUBA SUIT

Dallas Drain approaches below-grade protection as one complete system, not a collection of individual products. Every design responds to the structure, site and behavior of water around it. Whether new construction or remedial, FASP® drainage, waterproofing, backfill and supporting technologies work together to create what we call the Scuba Suit, a subterranean envelope designed to protect the structure as a whole.

WATERPROOFING


A 60-mil sheet membrane protected by a secondary drain-mat layer forms the waterproofing component of the system. Combined with FASP® drainage, multi-outlet redundancy, pump assemblies and hybrid channel drainage, it creates multiple layers of basement protection.

BACKFILL


Rather than placing native soil directly against the waterproofed wall, Dallas Drain separates it with an 18 inch column of natural washed gravel. FASP® systems at multiple elevations collect and move subsurface water, helping prevent accumulation and hydrostatic pressure against the structure.

VENTILATION


For crawlspaces, custom forced-air ventilation can work in conjunction with FASP® perimeter drainage to accelerate drying. Systems can range from simple controls to automated monitoring of temperature, humidity, wood moisture and dew point.

CONTROL SYSTEMS


Drawing on Dallas Drain's background in electrical controls, monitoring systems range from simple malfunction indicators to FASP GUARDIAN®, remotely monitoring conditions including water levels, power, ventilation, lift stations, condensation overflow, freeze conditions and moisture.

WATER RECLAMATION


Dallas Drain also studies how collected subsurface water can become a resource rather than waste. Some basement systems encounter 4,000–6,000 gallons of water each day. Documented testing described in your material found approximately 95% of this water suitable for plants and animals, leading to applications including landscape and neighborhood water features.
